Because of road work, you have to take extra travel time into account. The A7 Afsluitdijk will remain open to road users as much as possible during the large-scale renovation. If work has to be carried out on the road, one lane will be closed to traffic (always on different parts of the road). For both road and shipping traffic, the Afsluitdijk is always busier in summer than in winter.
Bicycle bus
Safe cycling and walking on the Afsluitdijk is not possible during the work on the dike. The cycle paths are closed. That’s why we offer cyclists and walkers free transport across the Afsluitdijk with the bicycle bus. The stops are easy to find thanks to the pink bicycle signs.

Work and nuisance
In various sections of the road traffic can use only a single lane. This applies to both directions.
A new water pump station and new sea locks are being built and the existing lock system is being renovated.
Parkingsite Vlietermonument IJsselmeer side closed to road traffic
Due to the renovation of the A7 around the Vlieter Monument, the parking spaces on the north side are not accessible for the time being.
Emergency port Breezanddijk closed
On the side of the Wadden Sea Levvel will set up a worksite at the complex, which will therefore be closed. The emergency port will be available for ships in need and in case of calamities.
Night work Lorentz locks Kornwerderzand
Work will be carried out on the bubble screen on April 23, 24, 25, 26 and 30 and May 1. These take place at night from 00:00 to 08:00 am. Shipping is experiencing inconvenience because one of the lock chambers is blocked.

Work is being carried out to extend the lifespan of the bridges and redue their susceptibility to failure. The blockage at the Stevin locks is expected to last 2 weeks. One of the passage openings will be closed during that time.

The day recreation area (the so-called motorhome pitches) is closed for the establishment of a work site at Kornwerderzand.
